So I know my big thing is baking, but the other day I had an adventure in cooking. Like real food… for dinner. Augusto came over and we went to Trader Joe’s to pick up a few ingredients, then came home and prepared this amazingly fresh, summery salad/side dish. It was totally easy to make, and is packed with tons of flavor. Who knew I (we) could cook??

Augusto mentioned to me that studies have shown that food actually tastes better when you’ve cooked it yourself. So true. But actually, it was really good.

Recipe here, but instead of the radishes/tomatoes/turnips we used avocados, diced. And definitely use fresh parseley and fresh mint for the dressing, and go heavy on the lemon juice.
